BIBLICAL MYSTERIES BRINGS YOU THE GREATEST UNTOLD STORY EVER TOLD.......

Intro

"And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: "Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may serve me." Numbers 3: 6

When the Hebrews escaped from Egypt and crossed the Red Sea, God gave Moses specific orders for every Hebrew tribe. He called upon certain tribes to do certain duties. No one tribe was left without a job to do. God singled out one tribe from all the others for a very special task. That tribe was the Levites. God told Moses that those of the Levite tribe were to be the caretakers of the Ark of the Covenant and the tabernacle, with all its furnishings. Anyone else who entered the tabernacle or touched the Ark would die.

Levi was the son of Jacob, one of the sons of Abraham. He had three sons, Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

Those of the family of Gershon were called Gershonites. The Gershonites camped behind the tabernacle, westward. At the time of the flight from Egypt there were seven thousand, five hundred male Gershonites. God appointed Ellasaph, the son of Lael to be their leader. The duties of the Gershonites were to manage and transport the tabernacle, the tent with it's covering, the screen for the door of the tabernacle, the screen for the door of the court, the hangings of the court which were around the tabernacle and the alter, and their cords.

Those of the second Levite tribe were the descendants of Kohath. They were called Kohathites. They camped on the south side of the tabernacle. The Kohathites were numbered eight thousand, six hundred. Their leader was Elizaphan, the son of Uzziel. The duties given to the Kohathites were to manage and transport the Ark, the table, the lamp stand, the alters, the utensils of the sanctuary with which they ministered, the screen, and all the work relating to them.

The third Levite tribe was the Merarites, descendants of Levi's third son, Merari. The Merarites were divided into two separate tribes, the Mahlites and the Mushites. Both tribes camped on the north side of the tabernacle, near where Moses and Aaron and his sons camped. There were six thousand, two hundred male members of the Mahlite and Mushite tribes. The leader of the two tribes was Zuriel, the son of Abihail. God commanded the Mahlites and Mushites to manage and transport the boards of the tabernacle, it's bars, it's pillars, it's sockets, it's utensils, and the pillars of the court all around, with their sockets, their pegs, and their cords.

According to scripture, those were the only three tribes of the Levites.

But, there was another Levite tribe, the Rohabites, from the lineage of Levi's fourth son, Rohab. Their leader was Josephus, son of Rael. They were appointed by God to guard and protect the tabernacle and the Ark of the Covenant. The Rohabite warriors could be recognized by their massive size and incredible strength. A Rohabite also bore a mark on his shoulder, depicting the two cherubim of the Ark facing a sword.

For thousands of years, Josephus and the Rohabites and those that followed them fought to protect the Ark. But when it was lost in a great battle, the Guardians, as they came to be called, were banished from the Holy Land. When they were banished, King David ordered that any trace of the Guardians and their ancestry be stripped from every scroll and every history book.

While they searched for a new place to live, the Guardians made a pact with God and vowed that they would find and bring back the Ark of the Covenant to the Holy Land. Their quest continues to this day&ldots;.
